If you're a pilot, student pilot, or even thinking about flying, please feel free to contact us. Prospective members must present an application at a monthly board meeting to gain approval. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7 PM in the EAA Hangar at the Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI).
Our Fleet
Our diverse fleet consists of training-appropriate Piper Warrior and Archer aircraft. Our Piper Dakotas offer excellent useful loads and are able to carry four adults (and gear). The Piper Arrows offer a complex addition to the fleet. We pride ourselves on maintaining aircraft to the highest standards.
Our aircraft is equipped with the latest avionics and safety features to provide you with the most comfortable and safe flying experience.
Online Scheduling
Our online schedule offers members easy access to the aircraft schedules from your smartphone or computer. To aid with your flying plans you'll have the ability to:
- Schedule planes
- Schedule CFIs
- Check for open squawks
- Check service schedules
Affordable Prices
Crosswinds Flying Club, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation in Illinois. We go to extended lengths to manage our operating costs to give our members the ability fly at an affordable price. We shop for quality maintenance providers that offer competitive rates without sacrificing safety. Our members pay for tach-time which is 20-30% cheaper than hobbs hours.
Safety
Our top priority at Crosswinds is safety. We have documented minimum checkout requirements for our planes to help keep our members safe and a host of flight instructors to help with proficiency.
Students
If you're a student pilot, or thinking about learning to fly, joining Crosswinds might be a good choice. We accept student pilots as members, and they are able to receive training from a number of approved instructors. For more information on Crosswinds membership please visit our Students page.
